Injustice 2 Red Hood DLC Now Available

Red Hood is now available in Injustice 2  across all platforms if you purchased any of the bundles that he was included in. If you wish to purchases him on his own, then he will be available on June 20, 2017. I’ve put together a short video that you can find above if you wish to take a look at his special moves, character power, and super move.

Red Hood is a part of Fighter Pack 1 which also includes Starfire and Sub-Zero. No release date has been given for Starfire, but Sub-Zero will be released in July.The patch that updated the character select screen to make room for new DLC characters also provides clues as to who the next DLC fighters may be.

Like all the base game characters, Red Hood has a variety of different gear, skills, and shaders to unlock. As for his characterization, he seems to be based more upon his renditions in Under the Red Hood. He seems to take a more violent approach to crime fighting that he has since abandoned in his more recent comic outings in both the New 52 and Rebirth versions of Red Hood and the Outlaws.

Red Hood was originally introduced into the comic book world as Jason Todd, the 2nd Robin after Dick Grayson. Batman found him trying to steal the tires off of the Batmobile, but eventually offered to take him in and train him. He proved unpopular with readers though because he was too similar to Dick Grayson. DC conducted a poll of its readers and the decision to kill off Jason Todd was made by a very slim margin. His death occurred in the “A Death in the Family” event where he was killed by Joker after being lured to a warehouse where he was beaten before Joker blew up the warehouse. He was eventually raised from the dead thanks to Talia al Ghul and the healing properties of the Lazarus Pit. Once revived, he started to take a lethal approach to fighting crime. Later down the line, he ended up teaming up with Starfire and Roy Harper and formed The Outlaws during New 52. When DC launched Rebirth, Starfire and Roy were swapped out and replaced with Artemis and Bizarro. Jason has since toned down his lethal war on crime and now avoids killing whenever possible. As expected, many of these story elements pop up in the game, making for some clever easter eggs.
