Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
The following is the statement of faith for Geeks Under Grace as an organization and ministry:
While we all come from a mix of denominational backgrounds, these are the tenets of faith the organization of Geeks Under Grace stands on:
The God of the Bible exists as an eternal, all-knowing, all-powerful, & fully good Creator & Sustainer; He exists as the Trinity: three distinct persons in the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit, yet one. He has a plan for humanity and seeks a relationship with us.
(Genesis 1:1; John 1:1; 14:6-9,15-17; 16:7-15; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ came as God in the flesh, fully man & fully God. He reflects God’s character & stands as a sinless example for us all. Born of a virgin & dying as a perfect sacrifice for our sins, those who trust in Him are declared righteous before God. He died, resurrected, ascended, and promised to come again for His people; we believe it to be so.
(Colossians 1:13-23; 2:8-14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Matthew 22:36-40; 1:18-25; John 8:40,58; 11:33; 14:1-3; Hebrews 1:1-8; Acts 1:9-11; 10:42-43; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Romans 5:8-10; 1 John 4:9-10)
The Holy Spirit resides within, comforts, and empowers all believers. The diverse gifts we have are stirred by His work in our lives, and He pushes us towards unity, Christian character, love for others, and every form of Kingdom work.
(Acts 1:8; 2:4; Romans 5:5; 8:1-30; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 3:16; 4:3-4; 5:18; John 14:26; 16:7-14)
The Bible is the divinely inspired, complete, and infallible Word of God. Its instruction is for our benefit in life as a standard and final authority. The authors of the Bible were divinely inspired by God, and its message is trustworthy. Understanding the message of Scripture in our modern times is key to living lives that are God-honoring.
(Matthew 5:17-19; 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:14-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:16-21; 3:14-18; Joshua 1:7-8; Acts 17:11; Psalm 19:7-11; 119:9-16,105)
Mankind, created with great intention of purpose by God, is born into a world of sin and depravity; none are immune to that state. It is only through Jesus that we can have a proper relationship with God. Those made right with God belong to His church; while made up of fallible people worldwide, it is the primary means by which we best learn the tenets of Scripture, grow in spiritual disciplines, and gain encouragement amongst other believers. Our ministry’s intent is to supplement regular and active church involvement, not replace it.
(Jeremiah 29:11; John 12:26; 15:6; Romans 3:23; 5:12,19; 12:5; Ephesians 2:20-22; Acts 20:28; 1 Timothy 2:5; 2 Corinthians 12:9; Hebrews 10:14,25; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; Joshua 1:8; Colossians 3:16; 1 Samuel 12:24; Galatians 5:13)
