Content Guide

Family Friendly!

Taiko No Tatsujin Drum ‘N’ Fun is a drumming rhythm game, and it works best with a Nintendo Switch Joy-Con or an official drum set.  It is a great joy to listen to Japanese songs and to exercise your drumming skills.

Compared to other rhythm games like Hatsune series, Taiko No Tatsujin is much easier and straightforward to learn.  With the simplicity of controls, it truly lets you focus on mastering the timing and getting used to the rhythm of each song.

I love the song selections from all categories, including pop, game classical, anime, and vocal music. It really cheers up my spirit whenever I hear the music. The DLC songs are beautiful too. My favorites are Disney songs and Studio Ghibli songs.

Besides being able to play songs individually, locally, or online, Taiko No Tatsujin offers a lot of options for party games. They use the rhythm element to let you compete or corporate with each other. You can have some family fun and laugh from those silly mini-games.

Taiko No Tatsujin Drum ‘N’ Fun is a game packed with energy and fun. It’s very family friendly. However, if you want to master the game and become a taiko drumming master, you will have to buy the $100 drum set. The drum set will make your hand drumming motions easier and more accurate, especially for hard and extreme difficulties.

I love Taiko No Tatsujin. Every single moment honestly. But this is not a game for everyone. If you love Japanese, arcade, music, or even rhythm, this game is for you. It is about enjoying the process and working towards self-improvement every time you play. Otherwise, you may want to invest your time and energy on other game.

The Bottom Line

If you enjoy Japanese culture, Japanese songs, and rhythm games, Taiko No Tatsujin Drum 'N' Fun is absolutely for you.
