Nintendo’s Miiverse will receive a new overhaul this summer. Available on both Wii U and 3DS, Miiverse allows players to post comments, screenshots, drawings, and other information on forum-like pages for individual games or the whole Nintendo community.
The update will further expand and organize Nintendo’s built-in Twitter-like social network by organizing posts into three different categories:
First is the Play Journal, which is accessed anytime you load up Miiverse during gameplay. The Play Journal will take a screenshot from your current location in the game and allows other users to comment on your progress or the game as a whole. There will be a private screenshot album which can only be viewed by its user. The private album can hold up to 100 screenshots taken via Miiverse.
The Community Discussions section of Miiverse is where more general game discussion will take place and there will still be separate categories dedicated to specific titles, promotions, and/or gaming communities.
Handwritten posts and drawing will no longer be allowed in the Play Journal or Discussions sections of Miiverse as there is now a dedicated section devoted solely to Miiverse artists. The Drawings section will take the most popular drawings from the Miiverse community and compile them in one convenient location for other users to view and comment on them.
There will no longer be a limit on how many posts can be made in quick succession as there is now a 30 post per day limit. However, in-game Play Journal posts will not count toward this limit.
