Welcome to the daily devotional we have. This is a learning process for me as I go along and I hope you can join me. I will pick a devotional on www.bible.com (feel free to go there and pick the same reading plan) and be posting the verse(s), devotional, and my own personal commentary. Feel free to leave your own commentary in the comments as I would love to read your guys thoughts. Also, I will have a video that relates to the devotional.
This devotional is titled “Catalyst-Known: A 21 Day Journey”. It is 21 days long. I use the ESV bible but feel free to use the version of your choosing.
1 Corinthians 13:11-13
“When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
Thank you for taking significant steps in your relationship with Jesus this week. Thank you for digging into these passages and applying them to your own life. God’s love is perfect and personal. His power and presence are with us. It’s a challenge living like God’s child. Thankfully, this isn’t the end of the story. There’s a conclusion that makes our ongoing battle in this broken world totally worth it.
Main Passage: 1 Corinthians 13.11-13
God knows you perfectly. Imagine what it would be like to be face to face with Jesus? How would you feel? What would you say?
How does that impact your view of today’s challenges and priorities?
Thank God for those things that you learned today and this week. Ask God for strength to continue to remain in him.
Which is easier? Living in sin or living as God has called us to? I say it is easier to live in sin. But ever since becoming a true follower of Christ I find that if I slip into sin that I know better. I can’t let myself do it. I can lie to myself and try to make excuses for why it is okay, but they are a bunch of garbage and I know it.
“If confession is the road to healing
Forgiveness is the promised land, oh
I’m reaching out in my conviction
I’m longing to make amends, yeah”
