Dropping at the end of the Agent Carter premiere, a human-sized teaser for Ant-Man has been released by Marvel.
Now, if you’re not already an Ant-Man fan, you may have some questions. Like “I thought Ant-Man was Hank Pym. Who’s Scott?” or “Really? An Ant-Man movie?” The answer to the first question is, yes, Hank Pym was the original Ant-Man and a founding member of the Avengers. Scott Lang is the second person to take up the mantle. He’s an electronic expert who turned to burglary to support his family, particularly his seriously-ill daughter. How he goes from the that to being Ant-Man will likely be the first act of the movie, so I won’t go into it. Know that the character is very cool, and that Paul Rudd is the perfect casting choice.
As for the second question, yes, an Ant-Man movie. I know it’ll be a stretch for some people, but so was Guardians of the Galaxy, and that only made like a bajillion dollars. Marvel has proved they can make whatever movie they want, and there’s no reason to believe this film will buck that trend. The teaser shows us that the effects are looking good and that the suit is cool, and that’s all I need for now. And that’s not to mention the cast. Micheal Douglas as Hank Pym, Evangeline Lily as Hope Van Dyne, and Corey Stoll as Yellowjacket? Color me excited.
