The day started out waiting in line to get my badge at Will Call. Thankfully one of the guys I work for has a cousin who actually does all of the set up for PAX. So our cool passes said “Special Guest” which doesn’t mean anything as far as I’m aware. I had 2 appointments to start off the day. One for Dead Island 2 and another for Geometry Wars 3.
I made my way around the show floor and saw some pretty awesome booths and games. One of the first booths I checked out was the Hitman: Sniper booth. It’s a tablet game in the Hitman universe and allows you to play over 150 missions in which you are sniping bad guys at opportune moments. It’s a lot of fun and looks good.
Of course I got to see Dead Island 2 which was very well done. I had a chance to speak to one of the developers of the game and asked him why the changes from the original Dead Island. He explained that they had done the first Dead Island with a very serious tone but had weapons that were over the top. The gamers had spoken and the developers listened. So Dead Island 2 is a little more silly and fun and the Co Op experience was lots of fun.
I got to see some Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and took a picture with Handsome Jack.
I got to play test The Evil Within for about 10 minutes. It was an alright experience, a little confusing since I didn’t get to play from the very beginning. The graphics looked “ok” and it’s a buy for me, but I didn’t get to see any of the scary moments.
To finish today’s article on PAX, I had the chance to play Geometry Wars 3. Geometry Wars 2 was by far my favorite Xbox Live Arcade game. I spent hours upon hours playing this game and attempting to beat my high score. Geometry Wars 3 will not disappoint you. This game was a blast. It’s Geometry Wars in 3D with world and friend leaderboards and it will be available on Xbox One, 360, PS4 and PS3. Absolutely recommend checking this out!
Now I am off to a Twitch party, so until next time!
