With both The Game Awards and The Playstation Experience coming up this week Capcom apparently has plans to resurrect the Onimusha series in some form, judging by a new trademark filed by Capcom.
As posted on NeoGAF, a Japanese trademark has been filed for the property, although nothing is known about the filing other than the fact that it’s new and is not a renewal of a previous trademark. Whether it will be used for a new console/mobile title, a remaster, or at all is unknown at this time.
The Onimusha series last made an appearance in North America with Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams in 2006 on PS2. It is possible that with the recently announced PS2 emulation coming to PS4 that the Onimusha series could be some of the first titles up for grabs for the new service.
