Well that came out of nowhere!
The news of this is even revealed in inconventional fashion. The legendary Shigeru Miyamoto had a sit-down with Eurogamer back in July and told the publication that Pikmin 4 was in development, but nobody paid it any attention because with the turmoil of the Wii U, fans believed they would have to wait on the NX or Pikmin 4 could have become vaporware. After all, there was a ten-year gap between Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3.
Yet today, IGN also picked up the story, and it appears that Eurogamer did a retroactive addendum to their original announcement.
This great news also comes with some bad news: no Mario Galaxy 3 on Wii U. I’m still crossing my fingers for an HD collection, however.
