Overwatch‘s newest hero, Ana Amari, founding member of Overwatch and mother of launch character Pharah, is the first post-launch character to be added to Overwatch via a free update. Along with several character tweaks and some balance adjustments, the new update also now limits players to one character of each type per team in Competitive Play. This prevents characters from playing with teams of only Torbjorn, Winston, etc.
The update is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This release comes mere days after the content was made available to Overwatch players on PC.
Ana was officially unveiled last week as a support class sniper, who uses her Biotic rifle to heal teammates and damage enemies over time.
As a counter to her opponent’s’ Ultimate Ability, Ana comes equipped with the sleep dart ability which temporarily tranquilizes enemies. Her Biotic grenade heals teammates in range while hurting opponents and temporarily preventing enemy healing. Her ultimate Nano Boost ability supercharges one teammate for a short period of time.
